Clean hair
I’ve got two boys, one with smelly hair and one without. The one with smelly hair is not a sweaty kid, although he’s very active. The other one will do the same activity and be soaked in sweat. His scalp doesn’t stink. I’ve noticed two differences. The smelly haired one has very thick hair, and he has always had a tendency to get a buildup on his scalp, from cradle cap days to dandruff, dead skin buildup as he got older. The other boy doesn’t have either of these. The rest of the time, when my kids are washing their hair, I tell them, “Wash the first time to get the dirt out, the second time to make it shine”. It’s working so far for us… Oh, and just condition the ends of hair…conditioner on the scalp makes it worse–at least at our house.
